Fair Play

Cheating is boring. Here's why it doesn't work here — and what happens if you try anyway.

The server is the referee

BLOCKSHOT is server-authoritative. Every hit, every point of damage, every kill, and every win is computed on our servers — never in your browser. Position updates from your client are sanity-checked and rate-limited before the server accepts them. Your client is a camera and a controller; the server is the game.

What that means in practice: a modified client can change what you see — draw boxes around players, recolor the map, pretend your gun is a banana — but it cannot change what happens. If the server says you missed, you missed.

What happens to cheaters

We'd rather you just play. The gun ladder is short, respawns are fast, and being genuinely good is far more satisfying than pretending to be.

Reporting

See someone who's clearly not human, or a name that crosses the line? Email report@blockshot.gg with the player's name, the room code, and roughly when it happened. Server-side match records let us verify reports — you don't need to capture video proof. We read every report.
